Without understanding what malware is, you might not know that you need to get rid of it or how to get rid of it. When your computer starts acting strange or just isn’t working quite like it used to, there might be a chance that your computer is infected with malware and you may not know it. While a slow computer is a sure fire sign that something is wrong, there are other warning signs that your computer could be giving you that tells you that you need to find virus malware removal, and luckily there are many in the San Diego area.
Malware is a virus or dangerous computer program that might download onto your computer without your knowledge or consent. Here are some of the warning signs:
Your browser gets redirected.
If your internet browser is constantly getting redirected when you try to use it, that could be a big sign that your computer is infected with malware. When we talk about your browser redirecting you, we’re referring to if your computer suddenly sends you to a new web page when you’re browsing, even if you didn’t click on a link. These unfamiliar sites could be infecting your computer with more malware, so taking it in to get checked out by an IT specialist that can help get rid of this problem is a good idea.
You get a lot of pop up ads.
Sure you probably get a lot less pop up ads than you did back in the early aughts, pop up ads are still a sign that something could be wrong with your computer rather than your internet browser. If this is happening, especially if this is happening more often than it used to, be sure to take your computer in to get checked out.
You’re getting warnings about malware from a service you didn’t download or pay for
A pretty obvious sign that your computer has been infected with malware is that you’re getting notifications that your computer has malware from a service that you never downloaded. As funny as it sounds, that service is probably a type of malware in itself. We don’t recommend using that service because it’s likely not a service at all, and instead find a reputable IT service like Fortress Computers in San Diego.
You’re getting weird social media messages or emails
Malware can also compromise your personal information, and if you’re getting mysterious messages that are sent to you from strangers or email addresses you don’t recognize, that’s a big sign that your computer has been infected with malware even if you don’t notice anything is wrong with your computer.
